Passenger Experience

PIER B PASSENGER EXPERIENCE

The approach that Aeroporti di Roma has adopted in recent years is to make the passenger the protagonist of the environment and the spaces around them. To this end, work on the structures has been carried out under the banner of functional redistribution to maximise the spaces dedicated to passengers and facilitate their orientation. In this logic, 44 self-boarding gates were installed in Pier B, digital columns integrated into the structures, with an intuitive design for the benefit of passengers and commercial spaces in line with the rest of the planned offer.

Particular attention has been paid to culture, which becomes the real protagonist of the scene and aims to make the airport experience for passengers truly unique.

In fact, thanks to the close collaboration with the Fondo Edifici di Culto del Ministero dell’Interno (Ministry of the Interior’s Worship Buildings Fund), this area hosts an extraordinary masterpiece: the bust of the Salvator Mundi, by Giovan Lorenzo Bernini, his last work, a synthesis of his spirituality and his conception of art, coming from the Basilica of San Sebastiano fuori le Mura (Saint Sebastian Outside the Walls).

It is a path, the one that Aeroporti di Roma has undertaken for some time now, that transforms the airport into a welcoming and multicultural place, a ground for interaction and exchange, where functionality and beauty are combined.
